We had a wonderful little celebration for our Little Miss Matilda!  Can you believe she's a whole year old???  She had a great time with her friends, the Day family, opening presents and having her first tastes of cake and frosting!  HOORAY!!  Pictures here.

Some Summery-ness

4th of July

We had lots of fun going to the "big" parade yesterday morning here in Lewistown.  It was a beautiful day, we got a really close park, and there was no traffic when it was over.  Take that Freedom Festival! :)  Check out a few photos here.

Trip to Seattle

So Abram has become an official member of the Montana State Bar.  He was sworn in at our courthouse here in Lewistown by Judge Phillips on Thursday (April 26th).

So the Lewistown Hoppers (a local kids jump rope club run by Abram's boss's wife) is having a big recital and bake sale tonight. Abram conveniently volunteered me to do a cake for the sale. Oh goody...my kitchen is now coated in powdered sugar. :) Their mascot is a frog, so I decided to do a "jump rope/frog theme." It turned out a little hokey, but hopefully someone will want it. (It's a double chocolate wonderland under all that awful fondant, so if nothing else, I hope THAT will be an incentive, ha ha!)

Spring Comes Early to Lewistown

I made the traditional carrot cake; this year with a BYU flair. Tilly & I took it into Abram's office on Friday to share with everyone.

Presents on Saturday. The snowflake paper is all we've got at the moment, ha ha.

Gathering No Moss...

Apparently it took a bath and no pants or socks, but here she finally displays on camera her new found skill. It's amazing what impresses us, isn't it? ;) Just wait until she can go back to belly!

And a few minutes later to show Daddy. She got a little too excited the second time and needed to be "reset." (Mom gets the award for ugliest jammies....) ;)

Resistance is Futile...

So it happened...we're in the club now, we drank the Kool-Aid, we've been assimilated. We registered the Jetta today, and I got my Montana Driver's License. Hazah! There's no going back now!

(Mom's favorite feature) Let it also be noted that just prior to taking these photos, she rolled over twice. We attempted to film the third time, but she decided she'd had enough of rolling...we filmed only cranking. :(

I'm sure you're all aching for more Matilda. It doesn't take much to impress us, (or you apparently). Here's a few pictures and a little movie from tonight, while watching the BYU Volleyball game. She started eating rice cereal this week. Like she needs help on her stoutness.

House

So I made a promise to Autumn yesterday that I would post some pictures of the house before we took off to Helena tonight. PLEASE don't mind the mess! Hopefully these will give you a little taste of what our new place is like. And there is so much snow outside I didn't take an outside shot. I will eventually though. It's a little yellow(ish) house with a big deck on the front and a little one-car garage out back. We're having a good time making it ours! :) Pictures here. And P.S. I just noticed I forgot to take a picture of the bathroom. It has an ANCIENT tub with feet!!

Baby Babbles

I promise I will post pictures of the house very soon. I'm wanting to get things at least remotely organized first. In the meantime, here's a little taste of one of Tilly's favorite games.

Herman the Vermin

Okay, so don't freak out. Yes, we had (notice past tense...HAD) a mouse in our house. I named him Herman. He destroyed a perfectly good bag of my best bread flour, among other things. Anyhoo, we picked up a catch & release trap, hopeful that we could nab the little turd (and rid our house of his turds...) Abram concocted a fail-proof bait: A Peanut Butter & Rice Krispies Ball. What little mouse could resist that? We woke up this morning to find Herman eating his way straight to PB & RK Heaven...IN the trap. HAZAH! :) We put the trap in a box. I labeled it. (Hey, I'm still in moving mode, okay?) We drove a few miles out of town and introduced Herman to his new life in the fields of Central Montana. To be honest, we figure he'll likely get swooped up by a hawk or an eagle, but oh well! At least we don't have to know about it. I even documented his dramatic (not really) release. It feels great to have a mouse-free house!

Farewell...

...to our apartment!!! And hello to Farewell Street! We've purchased a little yellow house on Farewell Street here in Lewistown and will be moving in this weekend. I promise I'll take pictures and such when we get settled. We've been cleaning and painting for the past few days. We're soooooo happy to have our first real house with no shared walls and even a little garage. Hooray!!

Montana Winter Fair

HAZAH! So for the first time ever, I decided to enter something I made in a fair. Today and yesterday, Lewistown hosted the Montana Winter Fair. I entered Matilda's blessing dress into the Fiber Arts competition. I also had a little booth of things for sale. I made a few sales and special orders. Best of all, I won "Best in Show" for the dress, and received as my prize an AWESOME wool (local sheep) rug that is crocheted and felted. All of the spectators were also invited to vote for their favorite entry for the "People Choice Award" which I was also very fortunate to receive! The prize was an adorable basket with several skeins of wool yarn, and lots of little sheep-themed goodies. I had a wonderful time and feel more "Montanan" than ever! :)
