"Captain" Abram at the helm. Funny, this, it's inside the whale watching building. So really, we're not going anywhere! ;)
Some videos from the aquarium. They had really cool "Chihuly-type" glass art in the tanks. It was awesome. Can you see the seahorse wink at me? And the touch pool with the rays was fun. I got a little too excited and drenched half my sleeve in ocean water! :)

You can't really tell from the picture, but this little starfish was sucked onto the end of a hanging kelp, dangling in the "breeze." The entire plant was hunched over. Maybe not such a "little" star afterall.
Unfortunately it was getting dark by the time we went out to see the otters. Little Emmett here had already gone to bed. OH! So cute!

P.S. Sorry I got lazy with placing the captions. My blogging skills are lacking when it comes to the spacing. My preview looks NOTHING LIKE what actually shows up. Any pointers?

Thanks for sharing the great photos and commentary about your New Years Oregon trip. It looked pretty chilly, but it sounds like you did a lot of fun things. Glad to know you got away from it all and had an enjoyable time.

(Don't know what you do, but I upload (in backwards order) all the photos and post/publish them first. Then I go back in to edit the blog and add the text, captions, etc. I have to delete a lot of blank lines between photos...they start to multiply as you go down the page. Use the Enter key at the top to add space for opening text if desired. I'm sure there are better methods.)
Didn't even know you had a blog...I just follow the ones Lila follows cause it's so easy to click in from her page.......glad she added you. Sounds like your mom has a blog too...never seen that one either. I've been taking computer classes so maybe I'll get the hang of that someday myself. New Year's resolution is to learn to use my digital camera and post pictures to my facebook. Yeah, go ahead and laugh! Some of us are old and scared of new technology!

Good old Oregon. I love the Newport aquarium and the Chinese Garden! I'm also very jealous of your visit to powell's of course(that's reason enough right there for me to move to Portland). Glad you got to do some fun things.
